Deleting User Roles

Sometimes a user role needs to be deleted. We'll show you how to do that here. Remember that deleting a role may have site-wide implications. Any user that is currently assigned to the role will lose all privileges in the system if the role is deleted.

(Not all users will have the permissions to access the settings where user roles can be deleted.)

Administrators and top-level roles, here's how to delete a user role. 

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the Users app. (Your list of apps may look different from the list below.)

  2. Click on the gear icon to get to the Settings panel. 

Identify the User Role to be Deleted

  1. In the Settings panel, click on Role & Permission Settings

  2. Select the role you want to delete. In this example, we want to delete the role "Manager." 

Delete the User Role

The next panel is where you will delete the role. 

  1. Make sure that the role you want to delete is on the top line. In our example, we're deleting the Manager role.
  2. Click the trash icon. This will bring up a window where you will confirm that you want to delete the role.
  3. In the confirmation window, click CONFIRM to go ahead with deleting the role. 

  4. Back in the User Roles pane, click Save & Close and you're done.
